The purpose of the Theodore Roosevelt Society is to:

1. Improve public knowledge about wildlife-dependent recreation opportunities in Mississippi.
2. Enhance knowledge about the role national wildlife refuges play in conservation and wildlife habitat preservation.
3. Further public understanding of the importance of volunteers on national wildlife refuges.
4. Create a sense of public ownership and pride in America's national wildlife refuges.
